Helloooooo there ๐Ÿ™‚

Today I have for you a review on a foundation I have been trying out recently, Rimmel Wake Me Up! There has been sooo much buzz around this foundation, and ALOT of rave reviews.

The retail price varies from store to store, andย  also country to country! As with everything else in Australia, it is more expensive here (BOOOOO!). I think I picked it up from my local supermarket on sale for around $12, which was heavily reduced! So since I have seen so many people talking about it, I thought I would try it ๐Ÿ™‚ Before I start I should let you know I have pretty oily skin, especially on my forehead and around my nose. I like light to medium coverage in my foundations, I have okay skin to begin with so I don’t feel like I need super heavy coverage, I just use a concealer on the places where I have blemishes or scars ๐Ÿ™‚

Okay, now to the review. To be honest, at first I HATED this. I could not get it to work. It was cakey, uneven and made me look like a disco ball. I kept with it, and played around with a few different application methods and finally I fell a little in love with it! I found that using only the tiniest bit on my foundation brush is the best wayย  to use it (I use the Coastal Scents Classic Tapered Kabuki Stick- my favourite foundation brush and very affordable!) and BLEND! Once you blend the crap out of it, use extra if you need to where you have imperfections, but with this foundation LESS IS MORE.

I have pretty oily skin, so I was scared of the glitter in this, but once on your skin you really can’t see it. It just kind of gives your skin a bit of a glow without looking like someone dumped glitter on your face.

The only problem I have with this is that having oily skin, this foundation tends to wear off on me by the end of the day! I do use a primer to help with this but I am yet to find one that truly lengthens the wear of this! If you don’t have really oily skin like mine, or you have a fantastic primer, you probably won’t have that problem ๐Ÿ™‚

I would probably give this 7 out of 10, because it does make your skin look lovely and glowy, but for me it just doesn’t last long enough! Like I said, it could just be a case of finding an awesome primer, but on it’s own, it just leaves a lot to be desired!
